It is critical for investors to distinguish between a shill and genuine project momentum. Shilling is a common practice in crypto in which people advertise the tokens they own in the hopes of positively influencing the price.

It can be difficult to tell the difference between a shill and an unbiased post. When purchasing any token, it is best to make your own decision rather than relying on what someone else says. 📝

DYOR can also assist potential investors in navigating Sybil attacks. Sybil attacks have become very common on social media platforms such as Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook, where users with malicious intent can quickly create multiple fake accounts in order to trick investors into purchasing cryptocurrency based on a popular post on a social media platform. Because it is not always easy to spot these fake accounts, it is critical to remain skeptical and conduct your own research.

The most important thing you can do to become a successful crypto investor is to put in the time and effort to understand your cryptocurrency investments. But it’s not always that simple. Here’s a checklist to help you through the research process.

💢 Methodology

To ensure that we produce the most accurate picture possible when conducting our evaluation, the underlying methodology includes both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Take a look at the project-asset paradigm from seven different perspectives: market potential, fundamental technology, ecosystem development, economics of tokens, core team, and roadmap progress.

The evaluation examines the project’s current state, how it relates to the originally stated goals, and provides an analysis of each fundamental to approximate an accurate future outlook. Because all of these factors are interdependent in some way, they are examined both individually and in the context of the project’s overall scope and progress.

📍Market Potential

To determine the prospects for future growth, it is critical to examine the market opportunity of each blockchain project. The market opportunity(s) of a given project are evaluated based on the project’s addressable target market size and, if any, competitive advantages. The addressable market size reflects the potential number of consumers and the value of the project’s target industry. The project’s competitive advantage(s) and closest competitors both within and outside the blockchain space are heavily weighted in the market opportunity analysis.

  • Target market size
  • Product attractiveness
  • Existence of Industry Leaders
  • Windows in market
  • The project’s competitive edge

📍Fundamental Technology

Any blockchain-based project must prioritize technological advancement. In this section, we compare the functionality and quality of technology to competing projects. The ideal project will have relevant technological solutions, will adhere to the stated milestone schedule, and will consistently produce high-quality code. The assessment includes, but is not limited to:

  • GitHub activity
  • Network components (i.e. structure, consensus, throughput)
  • Pace of development
  • Relevancy of tech

📍Ecosystem Development

Blockchain projects are heavily reliant on network effects. It makes no difference whether The project is very innovative, even if its acceptance in the community and market is low. This is especially important for network projects that are being built for future dApp development and rely on exponential ecosystem growth for success.

To assess the ecosystem’s health and potential, we compare variables such as the number of active addresses, on-chain transactions, and community supporters. Other variables considered in evaluating this fundamental are the number of existing dApps and the quality of partnerships.

The level of decentralization is critical in any ecosystem; to determine this, we examine the distribution of assets, governance structure, and role of validators in the network. An ideal project will have proven partnerships and active dApps on its network, as well as a strong community of supporters and developers to help it grow. The network architecture should also be consistent with the desired level of decentralization. The evaluation includes, but is not limited to:

  • Network analysis (dApps)
  • Comparative size and quality of community support
  • Social media
  • Governance
  • Asset allocation and on-chain data analysis

📍Economics of Tokens

The token economics investigation begins with a comparative analysis of the project market cap in relation to other projects. Analysis also includes assessing the token’s role, potential demand drivers, and other factors that may lead to value appreciation over time. Token economics evaluation primarily considers variables such as:

  • Market cap of project
  • Role of token and demand potential
  • Value drivers
  • Relevant news
  • Incentive mechanisms

📍Token Performance

In this section, we look at the price volatility risks associated with the underlying asset. Because of the more transient and dynamic nature of price movement, volume, and liquidity, token performance is weighted slightly lower than the other fundamentals.

We examine the tokens’ price and volume performance trends in the context of the overall market, as well as the dynamics of individual projects. It is important to note that, while volatility reflects risk, it is not always an accurate indicator of the project’s commercial viability or the token’s long-term value. The underlying asset has liquidity risks. The ideal project will have an asset with positive long, medium, and short-term price momentum, as well as strong, consistent volume on major exchanges with a low level of price volatility. The assessment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Trading data analysis
  • Relevant news
  • Social media

📍Core Team

The core team considers the influence of the leaders and central developers on the prospects of a given project. The team’s competency and capability are evaluated based on an examination of their credentials and the project’s stated goals.

In addition to credentials supported by strong evidence from a demonstrable track record of prior successes in previous business and engineering pursuits, the size and balance of the team are evaluated in relation to the project’s goals and scope. Furthermore, the overall stability and sustained growth of the team are used as indicators of project viability.

Variables that affect the core team score include, but are not limited to:

  • Team credentials
  • Changes to lead personnel
  • Size and balance of team
  • Evidence of instability
  • Team growth

📍Roadmap Progress

The team’s stated goals, the initial plan, and updated iterations of the roadmap are critical indicators of the team’s ability to deliver on promises, as well as a critical metric of commitment to the project. The timeliness of milestones is evaluated, as well as upcoming catalysts or windows of opportunity that may be critical to the long-term project prospects. Accountability of the team is also considered through an evaluation of the team’s communications with the community, and are given more weight when evidence to corroborate claims is available.

  • Roadmap evaluation
  • Upcoming catalysts
  • Team communications
  • Progress announcements
  • Upcoming milestones of competition

This Methodology helps in DYOR. in addition here are some right questions to ask before investing in any project .

Use this questions to create a framework for your research.

A checklist of the most important questions to ask while researching is helpful. Before you invest, you should have solid answers to the following questions:

1️⃣ What issue is this cryptocurrency attempting to address? Is it a genuine issue?

2️⃣ What is the market capitalization of this cryptocurrency? What exactly is the risk profile?

3️⃣ What distinguishes it from its competitors? How distinct is the cryptocurrency from its nearest competitor?

4️⃣ How did this project come to be, and what are the plans for the future?

5️⃣ How trustworthy is the team? Do they have a track record of success?

6️⃣ How large is the community willing to adopt this cryptocurrency’s use-case?

7️⃣ What are the legal implications of this cryptocurrency in my country?

8️⃣ What is the status of the project’s marketing and social media presence?

9️⃣ What are their Google and social media trends?

🔟 What are the main characteristics of the cryptocurrency’s blockchain?

1️⃣1️⃣ How clear is their road map?

1️⃣2️⃣ Is there anything that raises a red flag? Any reservations about this project?

1️⃣3️⃣ On which exchange can I purchase this cryptocurrency?

Remember to do your own research and not to take any of the above as financial advice but just information.

If you liked this breakdown share with two people that you think this will be beneficial to them. There is no joy in possession without sharing. Share your knowledge. The miracle is this: The more we share the more we have.🙏🏿🙏🏿🫂
